The goal of the Abhaya project was to facilitate coalition and networking of women, and to create a safe environment for continued activism in the Mandals. This emerged from Aarti's learnings from the Mana Bidda project that there was a need to build on the momentum of the fight against gender discrimination and provide a physical, psychological, social and legal support system for these women Human Rights Defenders (w/HRDs).
